Going far, going light

Headed to San Diego for the weekend and it's the first time in a long while, including my honeymoon to Australia, that I won't be lugging my laptop around.

Why? Well I can do most everything I need from my iPad2. And thanks to Gnome, I can even access my computer at home to play some cards on Bocat.

The world keeps getting smaller and smaller. And lighter and lighter.

why thanks to gnome? what vnc program are you using - I was just looking around for one. Love my ipad - I just did the same thing on a trip - left the laptop home. Of course, I also forgot my ipad in Fla... still waiting for it to come back to me... sigh.

sweet - just tried it on my iphone. guess it doesn't get any easier than this... can't wait to get my ipad back - the extra real estate should make this fairly usable. I used to use chicken of the vnc, but changed my router and never got it back up and running. will be nice to be able to set renders from the airport, or send myself files with my ipad :)

How did the poker work? To play you use a mouse, so what happens when it "sees" your laptop?

Also, how was the speed?

So you control the mouse with the touch screen and tap the iPad to click it.

You can also call up a keyboard on the screen, which was helpful typing in amounts instead of using the betting bar...

I meant to ask one more question. I'm guessing you used wifi. How well would it work via 3G? Do you think it would be fast enough?

Hmm. Not sure but probably could work?
